Welcome to 2016!

Updated: Mar 9, 2022

The Circle City (IN) Chapter of the Links Incorporated honored the old year and welcomed the new, by empowering people and transforming lives!

In support of the National Trends and Services facet the Circle City (IN) Chapter hosted a Christmas sweater party, where each Link sister was invited to donate a $25 gift card as admission. The result was not only a wonderful friendship activity, but also a generous donation to a local transitional housing program. On December 31, the Circle City (IN) Chapter donated $1000 in gift cards to Coburn Place Safe Haven. Coburn Place is the largest and most comprehensive transitional housing program in Indianapolis, providing rent-free, on-site transitional housing, supportive services and advocacy to women and children who have escaped abusive situations. The donated gift cards offered support to the residents of Coburn Place, as well as support to Coburn’s mission, of empowering victims of intimate partner violence to live as survivors.

On January 12, the Circle City (IN) Chapter continued its focus on women’s issues and economic empowerment by launching a partnership with Dress for Success Indianapolis. The Circle City (IN) Chapter hosted the first of a three-part professional development series, by providing panelists for the Dress For Success Professional Women’s Group on the topic of “Professional/Business Etiquette”. Link sister panelists shared their experience and expertise with more than two dozen attendees, and supported the Dress for Success Indianapolis mission to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women. The partnership continues in February when the Circle City (IN) Chapter will host its another Professional Women’s Group on the topic of “Work-Life Balance,” and the final session of the series will be held in March on the topic of “Conflict Resolution.”
